Our Studios
Learner-driven schoolhouses
Studio Design
Aim Academy has three studios: Elementary, Middle, and High School. These studios are learner-driven one-room schoolhouses. We believe that children learn best when working with children younger and older than themselves rather than split up into groups based solely on age. In addition to individualized curriculum, all ages of students work together in groups.

Spark Studio
Ages 5–8
The Spark Studio is a learning environment for young children that focuses on developing foundational skills in a hands-on, Montessori-inspired setting. It emphasizes independence, curiosity, and a love of learning through play-based activities and exploration. The Spark Studio prepares learners for the next step in their Acton Academy journey by building a strong foundation in essential skills.

Elementary School Studio
Ages 8–11
The Elementary Studio (ES) is a mixed-age learning environment, fostering a close-knit community of self-directed learners. It emphasizes hands-on, project-based learning, encourages curiosity and creativity, and empowers learners to take ownership of their learning. The ES promotes self-directed learning, with Guides playing a supportive role through Socratic discussions and challenges.

Middle School Studio
Ages 11-14
We believe each of our students will find a passion — something they love and have a gift to do – finding and pursuing this gift we call the Hero’s Journey. Our mission is to equip our students with the skills and tools they will need to find and pursue their life’s purpose. During the transformative Middle School years, we inspire our young people to develop independent thinking, strong friendships, leadership skills, and pursue their work with integrity.

High School Studio
Ages 14-18
High School students get ready for real-world success by gaining valuable skills, mastering them through apprenticeships, and launching real startups, businesses, and projects. Students surround themselves with mentor entrepreneurs, artists, scientists, and heroes in the field they're passionate about. In this Studio, students get to hone their skills and talents while building a portfolio that proves what they can do.
